Ang Halloween ay isang Old English word na ang ibig sabihin ay All Hallows Eve O Gabi ng mga Banal. Ipinagdiriwang ang Holloween tuwing Ika-31 ng Oktubre at mag tatapos ito sa Ika-2 ng Nobyembre. Nagmula ang Selebrasyong ito sa buong Europa. Ang tradisyon ay nag sinula sa Ancient Celtic Festival of Samhain, kung saan nag susuot ng costume at nag sisinfi ng kandila ipang itaboy ang mga masasamang espiritu. Ngunit noong Ika Walong Siglo itinalaga ni Papa Gregorio III ang Ika-1 ng Nobyembre upang parangalan ang mga Santo.
